Illegal Alien Activists Tried to Shutdown NC Hotel for Renting Rooms to ICE

BURLINGTON – The concept of the ‘Rule of Law’ is either completely lost on, or willfully ignored, by so many groups of activists on the Left. This is especially the case when it comes to illegal immigration and law enforcement agencies habit of, well, enforcing the law.

A couple weeks ago, a group of Social Justice Warriors, that also happen to be illegal aliens, assembled to protest at a Holiday Inn in Burlington. Why? Because the hotel rented rooms to federal immigration authorities.

From The Times News:

“Protesters gathered in the lobby of Burlington’s Holiday Inn Express Thursday, Feb. 7, to ask one thing: stop allowing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents to stay in the hotel.

Siembra NC — a grassroots group of Triad Latinx undocumented immigrants — published a press release, Thursday afternoon, stating, “ICE vehicles with Georgia plates have been seen entering and leaving the Alamance County Detention Center, as have buses contracted by the GEO Group from the Folkston ICE Processing Center” and that ICE agents had been seen leaving the Holiday Inn Express early in the morning.”

That’s what Immigration and Customs Enforcement does – enforce immigration laws!

(An aside: the ‘x’ in ‘Latinx‘ stems from these postmodern Leftists resentment of the two genders in the Spanish language. It is simply too offensive to the intersectional, non-binary, whatever-you-feel-like crowd to be labeled latinA or latinO.)

Our principle question is why, if ICE agents are literally at the hotel, the authorities don’t walk right outside and detain the known mob of illegal alien agitators that are doing their best to get attention?

They literally walked in the hotel advertising that they were illegal aliens, taking offense to ICE having rooms at the hotel, and asking a desk worker to deliver a message to management.

“We’re here as a community because, I don’t know if you’re aware, but in this hotel, people are staying, ICE agents who work for GEO Group, people who are guilty of tearing families apart, arresting them, hunting them down and deporting them, leaving children without their parents, leaving moms without their children, leaving husbands without their wives and vice versa and we demand that this hotel stands with this community, workers, its customers, and kicks them out of here,” [Siembre NC leader] Miranda said.

They then passed around swag with an emergency alert phone number so illegal aliens can be immediately apprised of ICE movements in their area, as to avoid detection and continue skirting the law.

Not every illegal immigrant is a cartel member, or violent criminal – that much is obvious – but it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand that when you break law, such as immigration laws, there are consequences. The notion that the law should not apply to them for this reason or that one is antithetical to a society founded upon the rule of law and applying those laws equally.
