Fox News: ‘Increasing confidence’ Coronavirus Outbreak Started at Wuhan Laboratory Studying Bat Viruses

WASHINGTON, D.C. –  Originally dismissed as unfounded conspiracy theories, more and more sources are pointing to a biological laboratory in Wuhan, China, as the source for the SARS-CoV2 outbreak that turned into a worldwide pandemic. That’s according to Fox News who spoke with sources that say with ‘increasing confidence’ that not only did the virus originate from this labs audacious handling novel viruses, but that the Chinese government covered up the facts as much as possible, to the detriment of the rest of the world.

“There is increasing confidence that the COVID-19 outbreak likely originated in a Wuhan laboratory, though not as a bioweapon but as part of China’s attempt to demonstrate that its efforts to identify and combat viruses are equal to or greater than the capabilities of the United States, multiple sources who have been briefed on the details of early actions by China’s government and seen relevant materials tell Fox News.

This may be the “costliest government cover-up of all time,” one of the sources said.

The sources believe the initial transmission of the virus – a naturally occurring strain that was being studied there – was bat-to-human and that “patient zero” worked at the laboratory, then went into the population in Wuhan.

The “increasing confidence” comes from classified and open-source documents and evidence, the sources said. Fox News has requested to see the evidence directly. Sources emphasized — as is often the case with intelligence — that it’s not definitive and should not be characterized as such. Some inside the administration and the intelligence and epidemiological communities are more skeptical, and the investigation is continuing.

What all of the sources agree about is the extensive cover-up of data and information about COVID-19 orchestrated by the Chinese government.”

The notion that the Communist Party of China suppressed information about the virus’ true extent is easy to subscribe to. As the president has asked recently, who really believes only 80,000 or so people were infected in China, with only a few thousand deaths? Some reports suggest the numbers are closer to 50,000 DEAD in Hubei Province alone.

China also leveraged its relative control of the World Health Organization to control the coronavirus narrative and cover up China’s blunders, and WHO leaders obliged. President Donald Trump’s decision to stop committing funds to the WHO is wholly justified for this and many other reasons.

The more we learn about China’s role in the genesis of the 2020 pandemic, the more it will become clear how sinister an actor the communist republic has been throughout this global crisis. The geopolitical dichotomy should come into full view as well, and those prone to defend China will find themselves on the wrong side of a very big divide.
