Salisbury-based Food Lion announced last week that they will be adding beer and wine to their home grocery delivery service, allowing you to make a beer run without ever leaving your home.
The company says the service will now be available in the Raleigh and Durham areas where Food Lion already offers home delivery as a part of their partnership with Instacart.
“As we work to expand our home delivery service, Food Lion is proud to provide this additional offering of beer and wine as part of our ongoing commitment to making grocery shopping easy and convenient,” said Neil Norman, director of customer loyalty at Food Lion.
Of course, as expected, you won’t be able to get your hands on any alcohol unless you’re 21 or older. Customers will be required to provide their birth date at checkout, and upon deliver a valid ID will have to be presented.
In order to make a delivery order, all you have to do is visit Food Lion’s website, or you can use the Instacart mobile app on your Apple or Android device.
From there, the process is similar to apps like Uber, as an Instacart Personal Shopper accepts the order, uses the app to pick up all of your items, and then delivers the order in a designated timeframe.
