Fiscal Conservatism & The State Health Plan

I love my state of North Carolina and I love that Republicans in the past few terms have worked hard to lower the tax rate here and to reform near-insolvent programs (like unemployment insurance) to solvency and to put us on a firm fiscal footing. Unfortunately, too many Republicans have lost their way in the NC General Assembly.
Fiscal conservatism is the cornerstone of what it means to be a “conservative” legislator yet too many have ignored their responsibility to the taxpayers and to state employees and retirees who are members of the state pension plan and state health plan by siding with the big hospitals and guaranteeing that they will pay more in premiums and taxpayers will pay more each April (getting absolutely nothing in return except a direct transfer of their hard-earned paycheck to wealthy hospitals). I’m talking about the bill that just passed the NC House – House Bill 184. State employees and retirees will actually be hit twice on account of HB184 – thru increased premiums and again by increased taxes.
For anyone who doubts the financial mess that our Republican State Treasurer Dale Folwell inherited when he was elected in November 2016, and for anyone who doubts his ability to straighten it out and get us back to solvency and to save state employees and taxpayers money, check out this video:
