HARNETT COUNTY – While there are plenty of high profile election worries to hold our attention, there are undoubtedly even more local election shenanigans going on right in our own communities. Case in point, one concerned voter noticed that a local food pantry was handing out more than meals last Saturday; the meals came with Democrat sample ballots and Democrat candidates’ literature.
In the Anderson Creek area of Harnett County, where Five N Two Food Pantry has its operation set up, the meals come with an extra helping of Democratic candidates expecting your vote:
This is what the pantry’s website states about their mission (emphasis added):
“The mission of our food pantry is simple: We feed the hungry in Harnett County.
The Five N Two food pantry was established in 2008 originally as Martha’s Place. In 2016 we became our own 501(c)3 non-profit with the sole purpose of feeding the hungry within our county.
The Five N Two Food Pantry provided over 11,005 boxes of groceries to families and individuals in 2019 alone. This represents 3,862 individuals who received food one or more times during the year. […]”
Their ‘sole purpose’? Feeding the hungry is laudable, and doing such work is commendable. Though, such caring work shouldn’t be corrupted by serving as a vehicle to deliver votes for Democrat politicians.
Once the concerned voter confronted the pantry purveyors about the sample ballots, the literature was folded up and the operation shut down. For that day, at least; there is another pantry food distribution scheduled again for next Saturday.
Do you think they’ll have more helpings of Democrat sample ballots and literature on the menu? The IRS and the local board of elections are surely interested to know.
