Exclusive Op-Ed from NC Congressman Ted Budd: Biden Can’t Escape his Pro-China, Anti-American Legacy

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Joe Biden’s long record of favoring the Chinese government over American citizens is likely to haunt him in November, and his campaign is going to increasingly ridiculous lengths to fabricate a different narrative.

One recent example came in the form of an ad that ran here in North Carolina, which falsely accuses the Trump administration of not sending American health investigators to China following the start of the deadly COVID-19 outbreak.

In reality, though, the Trump administration’s Centers for Disease Control (CDC) tried several times to send experts to China — starting just one week after China reported the outbreak to the World Health Organization on December 31, 2019 — but those outreaches were flatly rebuffed by Chinese authorities.

Similarly, when President Trump imposed emergency travel restrictions on China in January, Biden criticized the decision as “xenophobic” and only walked back his statement after public health experts such as Dr. Anthony Fauci credited the President’s quick and decisive action with saving countless American lives.

Fortunately, Americans are smart enough to see Biden’s true colors. No amount of deflection and lies from the Biden campaign can erase the reputation of Democrats’ presumptive nominee for president as being a stooge for the Chinese Communist Party.

Throughout his decades in government, Biden’s pro-China policies have gutted the American middle class and cost millions of blue collar American jobs. The burden of unfair Chinese competition has hit North Carolina’s furniture industry particularly hard, taking away thousands of well-paying jobs that once helped to sustain entire communities.

Biden, however, dismisses workers who mention concerns about losing their jobs to China.

President Trump, on the other hand, has presided over an economic renaissance that allowed North Carolina to achieve its lowest unemployment rate in history on the strength of nearly a quarter-million new jobs added between January 2017 and the start of the coronavirus pandemic.

The presumptive Democrat presidential nominee clearly has no concern for ordinary American workers. Even now, as North Carolinians suffer from the fallout of COVID-19 both emotionally and financially, with some joining the protest against excessive lockdown restrictions, Biden accuses us of caring only about adding “one more point to the Dow.”

Fortunately, the polls indicate that Americans will not be willing to accept a pro-China candidate amidst the disturbing revelations about China’s deadly role in the coronavirus pandemic.

Come November 3, Joe Biden won’t be able to escape the fact that he has consistently sided with China over workers across America and North Carolina.
