RALEIGH – When the Republican Party of North Carolina holds its convention next month, it appears they’ll have the biggest MAGA cheerleader of all in attendance.

The convention will be held in Greenville June 3 to June 6 at the Greenville Convention Center. It will also be offered virtually.
Trump will be the headliner, which the MAGA faithful are sure to appreciate, but it also draws a ‘HUGE’ amount of attention to a state convention sometimes struggles to generate enthusiasm. Of course, he won our critical swing state in both 2016 and 2020, always mentioning how much he loves North Carolina when in the Old North State. Of course, his daughter-in-law Lara Trump was raised on the coast of North Carolina and attended NC State University before marrying Eric Trump.
Lara Trump is still mentioned as a possible contender for the GOP 2022 Senate bid, currently being pursued by former governor, former and sitting congressmen, and others. Might the convention feature some breaking news? We’ll have to wait and see.
In addition to Donald Trump, Republican South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem will be a feautred speaker. The governor gained popularity as she eloquently and forcefully defended her constitutionally based decision to not place her state on draconian lockdowns, and resisting Pandemic Panic overall. More recently she was burned whole trying to handle the emotionally charged world of transgender politics with nuance, but over the last year has been nothing but an effective advocate for limited government and individual rights.
It is a focus on those philosophies gifted us by our founders, and the policies and politics that come from them, that should animate the spirit of Republicans at this year’s convention. And they’ll have the energy to do it with Trump on stage.
