GREENSBORO – As the shrinking, but still large, field of Democrats battle each other for the 2020 presidential nomination they tend to one up each other on who is the most socialist, or the most anti-Trump. To that point, former California state lawmaker and state attorney general and top tier 2020 contender Kamala Harris was campaigning in Greensboro this weekend when she promised the crowd that, as president, she would prosecute Donald Trump.
She then went on to cast blame on the president for mass murders.
From the Greensboro News & Record:
“Select her as the Democratic presidential nominee and she’ll not only light into “the current occupant of the White House,” but also articulate a winning financial rescue plan for the middle class, U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris told an appreciative crowd Sunday at Smith High School.
The California senator and former state attorney general said that if picked as her party’s standard bearer, “we will do what is necessary to prosecute the case against four more years of Donald Trump in the White House.” […]
The 5-foot-2-inch, 54-year-old politician said Trump was not the only cause for such atrocities as the recent mass killings in El Paso, Texas. But in remarks that lasted about a half hour, she said he shared blame for setting a hateful tone.
“Of course, he did not pull the trigger,” she said. “But he’s certainly been tweeting out the ammunition.” […]”
The article goes on to say Harris and her remarks were well received in the Gate City, but as the Democrats outdo each other to gain the support of the Far Left and Trump Haters they are bound to be turning off nearly every other cohort they’d need to win a general election. Get too far outside of North Carolina’s few liberal hot spots and that language only leads Republicans to dig in behind their president and the few reasonable Democrats to question their allegiance to a party seemingly hellbent on turning this nation into the People’s Republic of America.
