Congressman Mark Meadows Endorses Michael LaPaglia for NC Secretary of State

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Republican businessman Michael LaPaglia came closer in 2016 to dislodging our two decade incumbent Democrat N.C. Secretary of State Elaine Marshall, who seriously needs to go. LaPaglia, running again to bust up the bloated bureaucracy in 2020, gained even more momentum this weekend with the personal endorsement of North Carolina Congressman and Chairman of the House Freedom Caucus Mark Meadows.

In a released statement Meadows spoke of how critical it is to support conservatives, and how equipped LaPaglia is to fight for conservative government as North Carolina’s Secretary of State:

“Now more than ever, it is critical that voters in North Carolina step up to support like-minded conservatives to serve in office. That’s why I am proud to share my continued support and personal endorsement of my friend, Michael LaPaglia, for North Carolina Secretary of State.

Michael was our state’s nominee in 2016. He won more than 2.16 million votes in the generalelection and mounted the closest challenge we’ve seen to the six-term incumbent Democrat. In his upcoming repeat challenge, Michael is poised to win.

Since his promising first run, Michael has stayed in the fight and continued to stand side by side with conservatives across North Carolina. Over the past four years, I’ve had the chance to attend events all over North Carolina, where he has continued to speak out on behalf of our values.

Michael’s commitment to limited government, fighting corruption and upholding the rule of law is the type of dedication to principle we need in our government. He has a comprehensive knowledge of the roles, duties, and challenges that face NC’s Secretary of State on a daily basis. Most importantly, he’s someone with the willingness to put the interests of North Carolinians first above all else.

Michael LaPaglia is the right person for North Carolina Secretary of State. I’m proud to give him my full endorsement.

Sincerely,
Mark Meadows”

After coming within a whisker of dethroning Marshall in 2016, LaPaglia has only continued to build support, while Marshall has merely continued a status quo of bad service and liberal agendas. Meadows’ endorsement should help further animate the already significant support for LaPaglia. The last endorsement Meadows gave in North Carolina was to Congressman Greg Murphy who won the special election in the Third District handily. So, too, will the overall focus on statewide Republican turn out in a big presidential election year.
