NC-01 – Endorsements have been emerging this week in the Republican battle to see who will challenge incumbent Democratic Congressman G.K. Butterfield in North Carolina’s 1st Congressional District. The co-founder of Women for Trump and former chair of Tea Party Express, Amy Kremer, has lent her support to Michelle Nix to be the candidate to take a shot after redistricting resulted in a relatively more favorable landscape for Republicans.
Kremer announced her endorsement Tuesday at a press conference in Rocky Mount.
“There is only one woman in the North Carolina delegation and that’s Virginia Foxx, and I believe Michele can be the second…and I believe she will go to Washington and support our President’s agenda,” Kremer said of Nix.
The push for electing more Republican women has been undeniable in recent cycles, but Nix isn’t the only one in this primary. Sandy Smith, who ran in the 3rd District Special Election 2019 primary briefly alongside Nix, announced an endorsement by Congressman Mark Walker earlier this week.
