Clean Vote = Trump Swing State Victory? ‘No Significant Issues’ Found in Standard Audit of NC Election Results

RALEIGH – In North Carolina a series of sample audits is conducted after every election to probe for issues between comparisons of machine tabulations and hand counts of votes. It’s not a whole state audit, but rather about 200 audits of individual machines along with assessments of select precincts. Overall, the  N.C. Board of Elections said the look under the hood found “no significant issues,” with only 13 mismatches uncovered.

Executive Director of the NCSBE Karen Brinson Bell said the standard audits show North Carolinians can be confident in the integrity of the election, and associated operations, in the Old North State:

“We are glad to see that no significant issues were found during the audit. This successful audit is a testament to our elections officials and to the elections equipment used throughout the state. North Carolinians can be confident that their votes count.”

That confidence is especially important amid the widespread allegations of vote irregularities and fraud (including via voting machines) that have delayed the resolution of the presidential election for weeks, and will likely do so for weeks more.

North Carolina employs the use of hand-marked ballots and ballot marking devices that print out a voter-selected ballot, that are then tabulated with optical scanners.

While the audit may serve to allay concerns over vote irregularities, notably, the state DOES NOT use the kind of ‘Direct Recording Electronic’ voting machines at the basis of those allegations. Such machines record votes directly into a computers’ memory, and store it on a hard drive, using touchscreens, dials, or mechanical buttons.

It is these Electronic Voting Systems that have come under fire for security risks amid suggestions that such insecure features may have been exploited to manipulate results.

So, North Carolina doesn’t use the suspect EVS, or an EVS at all, for that matter; the standard audit showed ‘no significant issues’ with the votes; and, President Donald Trump was the clear winner in this ‘must win’ swing state.

Take from that what you will, but why does it seem like that same end result in most, if not all, the swing states currently under scrutiny for questionable election integrity had conducted the election with hand ballots and true audits?
