WILMINGTON – Police are seeking the identity of a woman suspected of vandalizing two Confederate statues on downtown Wilmington. The incident happened early Thursday morning, and when officers arrived at 6:00 AM they found the statues covered in orange paint. These same two statues were vandalized a couple years ago in the aftermath of the Charlottesville, Virginia saga.
But the police are not completely clueless; they have video footage of whoever it was that decided their social justice statement was worth destroying property.
From WECT:
Around 12:45 p.m., Wilmington police released surveillance video of a woman it says is responsible for the vandalism.
If you have any information, contact the Wilmington Police Department at 343-3609 or send an anonymous tip to Text-A-Tip by texting TIP708 and your message to CRIMES (274637).
