And the award goes to: Actor Jussie Smollett Indicted on 6 Counts for Allegedly Lying to Chicago Police About Hoax Attack

CHICAGO, IL – Remember actor Jussie Smollett, crying on television when recounting how two MAGA hat-wearing Trump supporters hurled slurs at him, tied a noose around his neck, and doused him with something caustic? Well, that was before the entire story fell apart and revealed as a hoax. He is an actor, after all, but he’s going to really have to turn up the drama if he hopes to escape justice. After the first round of charges were mysteriously dropped, Smollett was indicted again Tuesday on six separate counts for his part in sending Chicago police on a wild goose chase.

“[…] former “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett was indicted Tuesday in Chicago by special prosecutor Dan Webb, stemming from the alleged racist and anti-gay attack on him that occurred in January of 2019.

Smollett is due in court February 24 at the Criminal Court Building at 26th and California. Webb said in a statement that Smollett faces six felony counts of disorderly conduct, charges that stem from four separate false reports that he gave to police in which he contended he was a victim of a hate crime “knowing that he was not the victim of a crime.”

[…] Smollett told Chicago police in January of 2019 that two men physically attacked him and yelled racial and homophobic slurs. But prosecutors had insisted Smollett faked the racist, anti-gay attack on himself in the hopes that the attention would advance his acting career. […]”

Instead, even those inclined to bash white Trump supporters as racist homophobes cast doubt on his ridiculous claims. The entire event is reflective of an atmosphere in which the Left out does each other to claim the lowest victim status as a badge of honor, and then using that victimhood as weapon to extract a pound of flesh from those that think differently.

Hopefully the prosecutors don’t get any phone calls that result in suddenly dropping these charges as well. For Chicago, and for the nation, accountability in this instance is necessary if such twisted cultural knots are to come undone.
