RALEIGH – The office of Governor Roy Cooper has decided that appearing ‘woke’ is preferable to law and order, or protecting people’s rights, and he demonstrated this Monday by marching with protesters after excusing massive property damage by rioters because the message was more important.

And march with them, he did, for about 90 feet, before ducking back into his mansion. Photo op complete, virtue signaled, certified ‘Woke.’
The chances this was an impromptu, spur of the moment kind of deal? Virtually zero. Actually, the day before, Governor Roy Cooper agreed to meet with a group called Raleigh Demands Justice.
At the request of @NC_Governor Roy Cooper, organizing members of the #RaleighDemandsJustice protest met with the Governor and his staff today in a private meeting conveying our concerns and necessary action steps. (1/2) pic.twitter.com/Wf9b8DUVZX

This group is an organizer of protests regarding the murder of George Floyd at the hands of several Minneapolis police officers, but their organization is about much more than that. The events they lead are peaceful, but their political message is the same message carried by much of the radical element that turns these protests into riots. It is a hard Left purveyor of social justice solutions, of woke warriors that ‘demand’ change and excuse violence when they don’t get what they want.
Just a few blocks from where the governor’s mansion is are streets completely boarded up due to the fact that rioters have been smashing windows and lighting fires to send a message. Cooper has signaled loud and clear that he is with them, because as long as the political ends suit Cooper’s liking, the means are justified.
Another interesting thing about this video — Cooper’s mask. He made sure to take it off so they could take pictures for the campaign. The governor walked and talked with his mouth uncovered and people definitely with in six feet of him. But just a week ago Governor Cooper was lecturing North Carolinians about their social obligation to wear a mask.
Wearing a mask says you care, he stated, it says you are compassionate. Yet, when it comes to a campaign photo op, it seems like Cooper stops caring. Wasn’t this about saving lives? It rarely is. That and this was, is, and will continue to be about promoting a Leftist political agenda as a solution for perceived problems, some real, some imagined.
