Leftist Agitator Rev. William Barber Says Border Wall ‘Raping People’s Opportunity’

The bellowing progressive Reverend William Barber, the organizer of the ‘Moral Monday’ rallies to protest conservative policies of the N.C. General Assembly with baseless and repetitive charges of racism, appeared on MSNBC recently to continue his progressive belligerence. This time, his fury was aimed at the border wall, arguing that having a border delineating two distinct nations is “criminal.”

“I was at the border,” Barber recalled on MSNBC’s “AM Joy.” “We walked into the Rio Grande. We watched families have to walk into the Rio Grande to touch family members they hadn’t seen for 16 years. I went to the wall. We saw children reaching through the walls. I didn’t see rapists and criminals. I saw a criminal wall and wall that is raping people’s opportunity.”

So Bully Barber is a fan of no borders at all, apparently, but also paints the picture that a border wall is unnecessary and unfair because the only people crossing it are loving families and those seeking opportunity. He says he didn’t see any rapists or criminals.

While there is no doubt that millions of illegal aliens are simply trying to make a better life for themselves, it is absurd to suggest that an unsecured border is only open to those with good intentions. Not to mention that there is a formal process for seeking “opportunity” as an immigrant to the United States, and we are supposed to be a nation of laws.

A mere cursory search of news headlines, and common sense, proves Barber to be fantastically wrong about the absence of criminal elements entering the country illegally.

Maybe, just maybe, we could construct some sort of well defined impediment that forced people who wish to enter the country to do so in a legal way, through the front door so to speak, because you can never know who is entering if the border is wide open. Such a barrier could stop a lot of criminal elements while a revamped system of legal immigration could screen and admit ‘opportunity-seekers’ based on merit.

A wild idea, I know. Probably a racist one, too, according to Barber.
