‘Arctic Blast’ Headed North Carolina’s Way On Thursday

The relatively warm days North Carolinians have experienced so far this month will come to an end sometime Thursday as a ‘arctic blast’ is headed our way.

The ‘arctic blast’ moving to the east originated in Canada, and has already engulfed Denver, Colorado sending their temperatures into the single-digits.

As the system moves into our state it will push a ‘quick blip’ of precipitation across North Carolina, causing snow in the mountains and rain as it moves to the east.

Meteorologists have warned that despite temperatures typically declining after the sun sets, this system is so strong that temperatures could being to steadily decline well before dusk on Thursday.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday are expected to be amongst the coldest days of the year, with the lowest temperature reaching 23 degrees sometime Saturday.
