For this one we have to travel back 18 years to 2003, when Dr. Anthony Fauci had already been NIAID Director for 19 years (He’s been there since 1984!), conducting a call-in interview on C-SPAN.
One caller was a physician, from the Great State of North Carolina, who blindsided Fauci by deeming his leadership ineffective, saying the nation’s ability to manage infectious disease had become worse under his tenure, and asking him to resign. WATCH:
