RALEIGH – Conservatives across North Carolina have become accustomed to university faculty being guilty of the kind of Leftist biases that pervade ‘higher education’ and have so for years. Think UNC Chapel Hill faculty raging against ‘oppressive statues,’ or Duke University faculty presuming the guilt of the Duke lacrosse team of racist rape. Countless parents have sent their level-headed kids off to college only to have them come back with a minor in Social Justice Activism.
One doesn’t necessarily think of North Carolina State University (NCSU) — notable for its engineering, agricultural, textiles, and hard sciences — when thinking of rabidly ‘woke’ college faculty.
Think again. Vice Chancellor and Dean of Student Affairs Mike Mullen, though, seems intent on changing the Wolfpack reputation to one of #resistance and condescension for ‘redneck’ Trump supporters.
@NCSU_MikeMullen the Vice Chancellor and Dean of Student Affairs at @NCState has still not learned his lesson. He has called @realDonaldTrump racist, called Trump supporters “rednecks”, and wants to nullify the 2nd Amendment. This is all off a NC State University twitter account. pic.twitter.com/KQ1suopjJq

On a Twitter account linked to NC State, Mullen rages against the Second Amendment, perpetuates the Left’s myth that Donald Trump is a virulent racist, and equates rednecks to dumb bigots that make his blood boil.
We doubt this is the kind of esteemed image that NCSU wants to present to the citizens of North Carolina, or the nation. Or, what about all the ‘redneck’ taxpayers that Mullen seems to loathe so much while they pay his salary? Does the Board of Trustees support Mullen displaying his partisanship so forcefully?
If you are a graduate of NCSU, or send your kids there, or merely pay taxes, you might consider asking the NCSU Chancellor Randy Woodson if Mullen’s use of Twitter is standard for a Vice Chancellor and Dean at the university.
