RALEIGH – He probably got a few double-takes as people walked by. Then again, he’s probably used to it by now.
“A black man who likes to teach Confederate history has harsh words for the people who took down UNC-Chapel Hill’s Silent Sam Confederate monument on Monday. He’s calling them thugs.
H.K. Edgerton, an activist who dresses up in soldier gear to teach people about that time period, drove more than 200 miles from Asheville to Chapel Hill to honor the fallen statue.
