75th Anniversary of D-Day, June 6, 1944

It’s a day that changed the course of World War II, and the course of world history. June 6, 1944 hundreds of thousands of Allied troops invaded Normandy in a decisive surge to defeat the Nazis and rescue Europe from the scourge of the Third Reich. It has now been 75 years since those heroic actions of the Greatest Generations set the world on a path toward American hegemony and the undercurrent of freedom it rests upon.

U.S. President Donald Trump, who has been in the United Kingdom being received by Queen Elizabeth II, headed to Normandy, France to commemorate the anniversary and called those that fought for the Allied Forces the “greatest generation to have ever lived.”
