450,000+ NC Health/Fitness Club Check-Ins, Not One Positive Case of Coronavirus

RALEIGH – Governor Roy Cooper must be tired. After all, he’s been running as fast as he can to get in front of the people of North Carolina with respect to coronavirus restrictions. Most recently, Cooper allowed gyms and fitness centers to open, after keeping them closed since March.

That’s great, except it came AFTER some of the largest fitness chains in the state announced they’d be opening their doors anyhow.

Cooper’s response reminds one of a child bully, revealed as impotent by a brave victim, scrambling to maintain an appearance of authority. ‘I was going to do that anyway,’ one can imagine the bully quipping.

Cooper’s immature nature, aside, many independently owned health or fitness clubs have been serving customers safely for quite a while now. If you were to believe Cooper and his Health Czar Mandy Cohen, these would be “viral breeding grounds” that surely spurred worrisome outbreaks of coronavirus.

In REALITY, these independent health clubs have registered over 400,000 customer check ins since the Pandemic Panic settled in. How many cases of coronavirus? ZERO.

The organizer of ReOpen NC’s Health Clubs, Rich Hooton, points out what Roy Cooper doesn’t want you to hear, and asks if Cooper and Cohen will ever be held accountable for the arbitrary damage they’ve committed against small-business owners with their lockdown orders.

“Most North Carolina independent business owners in the health and fitness industry opened their doors in defiance of Governor Roy Cooper’s EO 141 on June 1st, 2020.  On June 5th, as a result of an attempted temporary restraining order from those owners, Cooper issued a “broader definition” of EO 141 permitting those members/clients that had been directed by a licensed medical professional access to their health and fitness centers.

As of September 2nd, 452,198 front desk check-ins have occurred with no positive cases of Covid 19 at any health clubs.  Will Governor Cooper and Dr. Cohen be held accountable by the health and fitness industry with regard to the accusations of these places being labeled viral breeding grounds?  CAN they be held responsible?”

Well, there is one simple way to hold Cooper and Cohen accountable, and that’s by showing them the door on election day.
