RALEIGH – Governor Roy Cooper vetoed legislation that would require local law enforcement to cooperate with ICE by simply honoring their detention requests so they can remove the illegal alien criminals from our communities. Meanwhile, in the month of September 17 illegal aliens in North Carolina were charged with 39 counts of child rape or child sexual assault. How many of those will end up bailing out and being released by a Sanctuary Sheriff?
Hopefully not in Chatham County where Daniel Gonzalez-Sosa, 50, was arrested for kidnapping and sexual assault on a child under 12 years old. Then, the family of Mr. Gonzalez allegedly broke into the victim’s house to scare them into silence. Multiple family members were also arrested and charged.
We trust, too, that Union County will gladly cooperate with ICE to get Alfonso Vargas-Hernandez the hell out of their community. The 44 year old illegal alien is charged with First Degree Rape of a Child.
There are no excuses whatsoever for law enforcement not to employ every available tool to cooperate in removing threats to public safety like these when they’ve already been arrested and detained. Yet Governor Cooper would rather let Sanctuary Sheriffs release such illegally present criminals so he can please his Leftist shot-callers.
