Traitor Thom Tillis’ Goes Back On Campaign Promises, Begins Pushing Amnesty!

Throughout his 2014 campaign for the U.S. Senate here in North Carolina, Thom Tillis repeatedly told the voters that he would never, ever support amnesty.

For example, take the following April 2014 interview with the News & Observer in which Tillis was explicitly asked, “Do you support any plan that would grant legal status to immigrants in the country illegally?”

To which Tillis responds, “Let me just be clear, amnesty is off the table…”

But now that Tillis is in Washington, and doesn’t really have to worry about repercussions from voters, what does Traitor Thom do?

He goes back on his word, stabbing the people who elected him directly in the back.

As The Wall Street Journal put it yesterday, Tillis’ ‘immigration overhaul’, will serve as a new “Gang of Eight” legislation, guaranteeing amnesty to the more than 11 million illegal immigrants in this country, while leading to a pathway to citizenship.

“The left will say it doesn’t go far enough toward open borders and then the other end of the spectrum, which is: ‘We won’t be satisfied until you collect everyone and send them home,’ which is just not practical nor, do I believe, in the best interests of the U.S.,” Tillis told the Wall Street Journal.

There are some measures included in the bill that would increase “border security and toughen enforcement of immigration laws,” but it would cave to the exact amnesty program demanded by Democrats for decades now.

Also under Tillis’ new “Gang of Eight” amnesty proposal, Barack Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) would remain rooted intact, ensuring any illegal immigrants brought to the U.S. at an early age to stay in the country permanently on the tax payer’s dollar.

Of course, as with most of these immigration plans, the idea of actually getting down to enforcing laws already on the books, taking care of issues like those who overstay their visas, and addressing foreign worker visas for high and low-skilled labor, are saved for a “later date,” which surely doesn’t mean they won’t just kick the can down the road any longer, as both sides have in the past.

A move like this is nothing new for Tillis, who has been adamant since election day about caving to Democrats in the name of just getting stuff done.

It was only a matter of time before Traitor Thom decided to pop back up and “fix” the immigration problem by betraying all those North Carolinians who voted for him.
