Previously Deported Illegal Alien Drug Dealer Arrested AGAIN in Johnston County

An illegal immigrant deported in 2016 after his arrest on drug charges in Johnston County has been arrested after he allegedly returned to the area and was caught selling cocaine.

Luis Lauro Sarmiento, 51, of Clayton was deported after his arrest last year.

The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office was conducting an undercover investigation in April 2017 and learned Sarmiento had returned to the area.  During the same investigation, agents said they purchased cocaine from Sarmiento while he was staying in a motel in the Selma city limits.

Sheriff’s drug agents arrested Sarmiento Thursday night and executed a search warrant on his motel room.  Inside officers reportedly found 12 grams of cocaine with a potential street value of $1,200 along with drug paraphernalia items.

He faces numerous felony charges including selling cocaine, delivery of cocaine, and possession with intent to sell or deliver a controlled substance.
